“We Have More Than Enough Oil To Make This Planet Completely Unihabitable”

Rolling Stone has a good interview with Al Gore about his new movie, The Inconvenient Truth. It's titled "Al Gore 3.0." It's pretty good. Al Gore sans political advisors. He's positive, energizing and motivating. I'm gonna have to see the movie now.

One point he brought up that's new to me:

We have more than enough oil, not to mention coal, to completely destroy the habitability of the planet. The real constraint on oil and coal is not supply, but global warming. There's a saying: "The Stone Age didn't end because we ran out of stones. And the Age of Fossil Fuels won't end because we run out of fossil fuels."

Rolling Stone also has some of the before and after pictures.

Patagonia, Argentina, 1928
Before the Warming

Patagonia, Argentina, 2004
After the Warming

Pretty undeniable. Even the skeptics are convinced. And there's a few posts per hour about it on Technoratti. Can't wait to see Bush eat crow on this one. Although I doubt his pea-sized brain is capable of understanding it.

  1. I hope you did go see the movie, it was pretty amazing and it certainly took care of a lot of the “global warming is a myth” arguments.

  2. I still haven’t seen it. I can never manage to find the time for movies anymore.
