Black Rock City Census Report
I've taken those census survey's at Burning Man but never got to see the results. So I poked around a bit and found the results from the 2004 Black Rock City census. Here's some stats I found interesting about burners.
* 57% Male
* 30% Non-Straight (LGBT) (8% Gay)
* 40% Single
* 90% Have been to college, 60% have a degree
* 78% Planned to vote in 2004 Presidential Election
* 92% Glad money is not accepted at Burning Man
* $1,148 average amount spent on Burning Man
I guess I was most surprised by 90% having gone to college, compared with 51% of the US population at large (2000 Census). And I didn't spend near that much money. Some people do go all out though.
