Mac OS X sucks as a server platform

If you're thinking about using "OS X":http://www.apple.com/macosx/ for a production environment server, you should really read "this article":http://www.anandtech.com/mac/showdoc.aspx?i=2436 originally "posted":http://apple.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/06/03/1859245&tid=179&tid=142&tid=3&tid=106 on "slashdot":http://slashdot.org/ . It gives a lot of technical information and OS X fairs really well under a lot of circumstances as a workstation and especially in Apple apps like Final Cut, but I found this graphic on "page 6":http://www.anandtech.com/mac/showdoc.aspx?i=2436&p=6 a little disturbing.

Apparently there's some memory latency issues and something to do with the time it takes to start a process. I guess Apple's response was that some proprietary database had found a way around the problem. Apache is and equal dog on OS X.

For me the biggest benefit from darwin's unix roots are more that I _can_ run the same software as a linux server on my mac as I'm developing it. I guess I'm not that discouraged cause I hadn't really planned to use OS X in a production server environment. I guess I'll be sure not to make any. Wonder if this had anything to do with the announcement about "switching to Intel chips":http://news.com.com/Apple+throws+the+switch%2C+aligns+with+Intel/2100-7341_3-5733756.html?tag=nl ?
